Pure Design, Leeds

Pure Design, LeedsWe were approached in the spring of 2007 by a brand new enterprise, wishing to launch a new company, providing high end individually designed bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms.

We viewed the 33,000 sq’ site when it was literally a building site, on two floors, occupying a corner plot in central Leeds.

The customer wanted to create a state of the art showroom designed along the very best of car showroom type standards, with wireless access points throughout which would enable sales staff to do spontaneous presentations to customers.

With a plan to open a couple more showrooms over the coming couple of years there was also a requirement to utilise VoIP technology in the supply of the telephone system – coupled with flexibility on the ground.

ICCOM studied the architect’s plans, did a thorough site survey and put forward proposals for the cabling, supply and installation of the telephone system, installation of new BT ISDN and analogue lines, broadband connections, cost effective outbound call services, non geographic numbers and we further supported this proposal with in house project management, staff training and ongoing maintenance.

We are an entirely independent organisation and therefore went out to tender for the telephone systems – looking at Mitel, Avaya, Siemens and Samsung.  We discussed the merits of the various proposals with the customer, viewed several demos and talked the options through until we reached a decision the customer was comfortable with.

During this process we explored the use of non geographic numbers with the customer – highlighting the advantages of these numbers to a growing business both in terms of providing a number which the business will always be able to use no matter how many sites it goes on to open or how often it changes location, and as a very valuable marketing tool, as these types of numbers generate free of charge call data.

We liaised very closely with the site manager and so were able to do the cabling and early planning for the telephone system installation without causing any delays or disruption to building work, ensuring that all our work was hidden and no unsightly wires or junction boxes were visible.

When the time came to do the final installation of the telephone system we were very proud to be numbered amongst the various contractors involved, putting the finishing touches to an extremely smart, supremely well conceived showroom.  We went on to provide advice and help in the setting up of the back office and the way they used the telephone system to handle incoming calls – complementing this with our very competitively priced outbound call tariffs and a carefully set up routing plan for their non geographic numbers.  Full staff training was provided and in fact we made a point of returning to site a couple of weeks after its opening to ensure that all staff were comfortable with their use of the system and there were no queries.

We now support the whole company with ongoing maintenance on the new phone system, careful monitoring of their inbound and outbound call traffic, the supply of broadband both to the main site itself and to various remote workers associated with the business.  In addition we bill for the BT line rentals and so are in an excellent position to keep a careful eye on the infrastructure generally, ensuring they keep ongoing costs to a minimum whilst still enjoying the highest possible quality of services.
